Drop your kids off at Little Ginger Studio’s super-creative, new kids’ art workshops in Randwick these Summer school holidays!

Little Ginger Studio is a Kids Art Space focused on exploring big, messy creativity with children of all ages. 

Process Art and Sensory Play are the focus of their Toddler & Preschool Art classes with a little bit of craft thrown in. Primary & Secondary aged students enjoy learning new skills, as well as a healthy dose of exploration and discovery. They encourage kids to develop their own unique interpretations & foster individuality. 

Little Ginger Studio offer fun & messy school holiday workshops (half or full day care), pottery classes, Messy Art Playtime for littlies, Preschool Art & Craft & after school programs for Kinders to teenagers. All workshops are suitable for 4-12 year olds – perfect for arty siblings. All workshops will be held in the new Art Studio in Randwick. Morning workshops will run from 9am - 12noon. Afternoon workshops 1pm - 4pm. Pricing is $65 per workshop (inc GST) or $110 for a full day (with free supervision over the lunch-hour).

They also offer "pre" and "post" care options 8:30-9am for $10, 4pm-5pm for $20 (supervision only, kids play games, free drawing etc). Breaks will be outdoors at the nearby playground on Gilderthorpe avenue, with a picnic & play in Varna Park at lunchtime  



SUMMER WORKSHOPS:
 
Clay Coil Workshop
Spend a relaxing morning exploring the hand-building technique of coil-making with ceramicist Isis Star. Make a beautiful coil pot and loveheart decoration. Pieces will be made from airdrying clay and can be painted when dry. (Work can be professionally fired for an extra fee). Children will get the chance for some “Free clay play” if time allows.

Yayoi Kusama Inspired Workshop 
Come and explore the dotty world of celebrated Japanese artist Yayoi Kusawa. We will be making spotty watercolour abstract paintings, fabulous dotty paper lanterns and creating our own “obliteration room”.  
Tuesday 15th January 9am – 12noon and Friday 24th January 9am – 12noon 
 
Collage Landscapes Workshop 
Come along and create some beautiful printed, marbled and painted papers with messy processes.  We will then turn our papers into a gorgeous frame-worthy collaged landscape. This workshop is super-easy but the results are spectacular! 
Wednesday 16th January 9am – 12noon and Friday 25th January 9am – 12noon 
 
Yummy Clay Food Workshop 
Create some delicious clay food with ceramicist Isis Star. Learn handbuilding techniques to make tasty sculptures. Pieces will be made from airdrying clay and can be painted when dry. (Work can also be professionally fired for an extra fee). Children will get the chance for some “Free clay play” if time allows.

Crazy Paper Costumes Workshop
Let’s make some crazy giant paper sack costumes! These full body costumes are easy to make and so much fun. Go mad with paper, recycled materials, sharpies, streamers and all sorts of fun materials to decorate your costume. Kids can make a dragon, monster, alien, robot, dinosaur, butterfly, animal, whatever they please! 
Friday 18th January 9am – 12noon and Monday 21st January 1pm – 4pm 
 
Donuts & Icecreams Workshop
Have fun creating observational drawings & watercolours from real donuts! Then make giant cardboard donuts and icecreams covered in tasty (recycled material) sprinkles. Lots of opportunities for fun photos in this workshop!

Robot Puppet Workshop 
Make a funny robot stick puppet with real jointed arms and legs using a heap of exciting shiny and recycled materials: cardboard, foil, bottle-tops, bubblewrap, streamers, sharpies, stickers, sequins and so on. Kids will also get the chance to perform a little puppet show. 
Tuesday 15th January 1pm-4pm and Thursday 24th January 1pm-4pm 

Wood Block Sculptures
Create colourful wooden block sculptures by sanding, painting and decorating wooden offcuts with chalk markers. Discover the simple pleasure of working with wood and learn to make a balanced 3 dimensional work. 
Thursday 17th January 1pm-4pm and Wednesday 23rd January 1pm-4pm
 
Abstract Canvas Art Workshop
Learn how to create a richly layered abstract canvas using techniques such as layering colour, scraping, taping, stencilling and more. Kids will take home a vibrant canvas to hang on their wall and some new artistic skills. 
Monday 21st January 9am-12noon and Friday 18th January 1pm-4pm
