Centennial Parklands Bush School - Term 3

Colder months bring crisp days and blue skies, so rug up and celebrate winter in Centennial Parklands’ Bush School program for Term 3!

Bush School for Kids 2.5 - 5years

Bush School is a unique nature play program for children aged 2.5 - 5 years. This special week-by-week program, led by Centennial Parklands’ expert Education Rangers, brings urban children and their parents back to nature in the heart of Centennial Park. Bush School will get your kids moving, creating, and thinking in a stimulating outdoor environment every week, giving them a chance to explore, discover and learn at their own pace. By the end of Term 3, they will have gained all the benefits of Nature Connection and Nature Play by developing their creativity, confidence, attention, and sense of responsibility.

During Bush School in Term 3, children will learn and play in nature whilst exploring a winter theme, including whale migration, microbat hibernation, cordage making, fire, stories and song. If you want to join for the whole term, you can book into Monday, Tuesday or Thursday, which are bookable for 10 sessions. On Fridays, you can decide from week to week by booking a single drop-in session ticket.

Term 3 Activities

During Bush School in Term 3, children will learn and play in nature whilst exploring a winter theme through:

• Whale migration
• Microbat hibernation
• Cordage making
• Stories and song

Term 3 Dates

• Mondays 18 July - 19 September 2022
• Tuesdays 19 July - 20 September 2022
• Thursdays 21 July - 22 September 2022
• Fridays (Drop In) from 22 July - 23 September 2022

Bush School is an outdoor program and will take place in all-weather except for high winds and electrical storms. Participants (adults and children) are expected to dress for the outdoors, including bringing wet weather gear, a hat, sturdy enclosed shoes and waterproof footwear when required.

Special notes: Children must be accompanied by an adult. There will also be a dedicated snack break during each session, so please bring food for your child.

COVID-19 Guidelines
To maintain social distancing practices and maximum group sizes:

• Only 1 adult or carer can attend with the ticket holder.
• Online bookings are highly recommended. Walk ups will not be accommodated on the day if group capacities have already been met.
• They refund your tickets if you or your child show any symptoms related to COVID-19.
