BTN: News Broadcast Especially For Kids On ABC Me

Behind the News (BTN) is a long-running ABC news programme for school-aged children that aims to help them understand the issues and events happening in our world, particularly children's' issues that are often overlooked by mainstream media. 

BTN explores news using the current language, trendy music and popular culture and explains concepts in a simple way that appeals to children.

Many schools use BTN to encourage students to cultivate an interest in politics, current affairs, sport and other topics.

BTN Classroom is a 25-minute episode covering a range of topics on Tuesdays at 10am  and a repeat on Thursdays at 10:30am.

You can also watch BTN Newsbreak bulletins every weekday evening at 6:25pm and BTN Specials on Wednesdays at 10:30am.
