Mums & Bubs Program

New mum life is busy, beautiful and, let’s be honest, a little chaotic. The Mums & Bubs program at Kensington Community Aquatic and Recreation Centre gives mums with babies aged 0–12 months a supportive space to reconnect with their bodies, rebuild strength and enjoy some feel-good movement, with bub safely by their side.

Choose from three weekly sessions:

  • Mums & Bubs Aqua Play & Sensory on Mondays
  • Mums & Bubs Strength Class on Wednesdays
  • Mums & Bubs Pilates on Fridays

Each 45-minute session blends fitness, recovery, wellbeing and social connection, making it easier to ease back into exercise while meeting other mums in the same stage of life. And because no new-mum outing is complete without coffee, every class wraps up with a $2 coffee, giving you the perfect excuse to chat to your mum crew.

Swimming Lessons

Little swimmers build confidence in the water with Swimming Lessons with the Y at Kensington Community Aquatic and Recreation Centre. With the YMCA's skills-first approach that goes well beyond learning different strokes, children develop swimming technique, endurance and essential water safety skills. Lessons are available for infants, preschoolers, school-aged children and adults.

The centre's heated indoor program pool provides a comfortable setting for year-round lessons, while the heated 25-metre indoor pool gives swimmers space to continue developing their skills. All lessons are delivered by passionate, industry-qualified swimming teachers, helping swimmers feel supported, capable and ready to make a splash.

Kensington Community Aquatic and Recreation Centre also hosts a variety of sports programs for children and adults.
