Blast Off at Chadstone Space Academy These School Holidays
Calling all mini astronauts! Chadstone is launching a Space Academy these spring school holidays, inviting Melbourne kids to blast off on an interactive journey filled with discovery, creativity and hands-on fun.
Running from 19 September to 4 October 2026, Chadstone Space Academy transforms a pocket of The Fashion Capital into an immersive intergalactic adventure designed especially for kids aged three to 12.
Your Space Mission Starts Here
Young explorers begin their mission by heading through the launch tunnel and collecting their very own Galaxy Pass before setting off through a series of space-themed activity zones.
Rather than simply looking at displays, kids get stuck into the action. The 40-minute experience mixes physical play, creativity, and educational activities, with opportunities to investigate meteorite-inspired objects, create cosmic artwork, and learn more about the universe along the way.
It's a great option for families searching for an affordable Melbourne school holiday activity that offers something more than another trip to the playground.
Space Fun Around Chadstone
The intergalactic theme continues beyond Space Academy, with a range of Chadstone retailers and entertainment venues embracing the school-holiday spirit. Families can keep the fun going with space-inspired experiences and offers around the centre, including a Mini Mars Gelato Experience at Brunetti Oro, cosmic adventures at Imaginationation and a Kids Space Pancake Adventure at Gram Cafe & Pancakes.
And if everyone still has energy to burn, Chadstone's usual line-up of family entertainment — including Hijinx Hotel, Holey Moley, Strike Bowling and Archie Brothers — makes it very easy to turn your Space Academy mission into a full day out.
What Parents Need to Know
Space Academy is designed for children aged three to 12, and bookings are strongly recommended. Tickets cost just $5 per child, making this one of the more budget-friendly school holiday outings around Melbourne. Limited walk-up places may be available, but they're subject to capacity.
Adults are there to supervise rather than participate, and Chadstone asks families to book no more than one parent or guardian per group. Everyone attending must be included in the booking, and families should arrive about five minutes before their session.
