Roola Boola Children❜s Art Festival

City of Stonnington presents the Roola Boola Children’s Arts Festival; one of Melbourne’s most successful children’s arts festivals, held annually throughout the mid-year school holidays for children under the age of 12.

Roola Boola Children's Arts Festival takes its name from an Irish phrase meaning ‘boisterous fun’ and with 30 events across the Festival - it certainly delivers on the fun! 

The Festival, held from Tuesday 27 June to Friday 7 July, presents an interactive and dynamic program featuring performance and workshops in magic, puppetry, circus, dance, music, theatre and craft.

Performances

ARC Circus - A Bee Story

A uniquely Australian physical theatre show for children and families that incorporates a kaleidoscope of circus, acrobatics, dance and live music. It tells the story of Queen Bee and Worker Bee who must join forces to rebuild their hive after being destroyed by a bushfire. But things never quire go to plan. Join the bees on their buzzy adventures and bee enchanted by their pollen-collecting skills, honey-making abilities, and super-bee strength!

Victorian State Ballet - The Snow Queen

The Victorian State Ballet proudly presents The Snow Queen in a beautiful ballet story performance!  Outstanding skill, artistry & technique will be on show in this visually inspiring and highly entertaining performance. Enjoy a magical experience delighting in the beauty and splendor of stunning sets, costumes, music and icy magic lighting. Pure delight!

Based on the well-known classic fairy tale of Hans Christian Andersen, the Snow Queen, is a beautiful ballet that portrays the heart-warming story of the young Gerda and her struggle against an evil and icy foe. The Snow Queen is full of magical imagery, intrigue, drama and suspense. This performance is suitable and enjoyable for ages 4+.

The Wholesome Hour - Polite Mammals 

Award winning kids’ comedy group The Wholesome Hour have made a brand-new show! It’s about animals of all kinds: stinky, sparkly, real and imaginary. There’s singing, dancing, puppets, and lots and lots of poo jokes. And best of all the show was co-created with kids so the songs, costumes and characters have all been inspired by you! If you’d like to see a real life Purrmaid, weightlifting Pengui-corns, or a Lemur cooking a chocolate cake, then this is the place to be.

See Make Play - Musical Instruments Making and Sensory Toys

Magic School Of Confidence - School Of Wizadry

Rebel Stepz Arts - Paint a Dog or Cat Tote Bag 

Calling all Cats and Dog Fans! Children can have fun creating their very tote bag in this exciting 60-minute workshop. Kids will learn the basic steps to crafting their own personal cat and dog designs before transferring them onto your canvas tote bag. Gumnut Music - Down On The Farm

Chemical Reaction - Fizz Kidz
