The magical steam train, decked out with thousands of shimmering lights and stunning visual effects, lights up the night, transforming the trees, tracks, and towns it passes into a mesmerising spectacle.

Hop Aboard the Puffing Billy Train of Lights

Taking off daily at 6 pm from Lakeside Station, the Puffing Billy Train of Lights offers a two-and-a-half-hour round trip along the historic narrow-gauge track to Gembrook. In collaboration with the renowned lighting gurus at Resolution X (think White Night and Melbourne Fashion Festival), this evening journey is a dazzling display of sparkling lights, hypnotic patterns, and vivid colours that sweep across the open hills of the Gembrook countryside.

The ride itself is a full-on sensory experience, highlighting the region's natural beauty through an extraordinary interplay of light and shadow. Watch as the Wright Forest glows enchantingly and native wildlife projections jump from the carriages onto timber trestle bridges and the landscape beyond.

Upon reaching the quaint Gembrook Station, you'll have 55 minutes to bask in the rustic charm of the setting. Warm up by crackling fire pits, enjoy a comforting hot chocolate, listen to the soothing tunes of a live musician, or snap a photo with the brilliantly lit train and the ever-friendly Puffing Billy Railway volunteers.
