The Mansfield Lantern Festival is pure High Country winter magic, and absolutely worth rugging up the kids for.

Don't Miss the Annual Mansfield Lantern Festival

Held from 19-21 June 2026 in Mansfield, at the foot of Mt Buller, this cosy winter solstice celebration brings the town to life with handmade lanterns, open fires, fairy lights, live music, street performers and plenty of local food and drink.

The big family moment is the much-loved lantern parade on Saturday night, where hundreds of glowing creations wind through the streets from 5.30 pm.

Families can also join lantern-making workshops, make a full weekend of it with Friday night festivities and Sunday brunch, and explore nearby favourites like Mansfield Mini Golf, Mansfield Zoo and even Mt Buller if you're chasing a snow-and-sparkle getaway.

Just bring layers, gloves and your warmest winter cheer because Mansfield in June is cold, and that's half the fun!
