Step inside DISTRACTION and get ready to poke, swipe, scroll, and question your way through a series of playful, thought-provoking installations that explore what happens when our attention drifts anywhere but where it's meant to be.

DISTRACTION unpacks the wild world of where our brains go and what we might be missing while we're off wandering. From the chaos of misinformation to the tug-of-war for our attention (yep, someone's always trying to monetise it), the exhibition invites you to think about who's actually steering the ship.

But it's not all doom and digital gloom. Humans are endlessly inventive, social and surprising, and this exhibition shines a light on the wonderfully weird ways we carve out space for ourselves in an increasingly noisy world. Featuring experimental works from Australian and international artists - many created alongside real scientists and researchers - DISTRACTION is an open invitation to dive in however you like. Linger, play, question or simply zone out for a minute. It’s your time. What will you do with it?
