It’s a Merry Market Christmas at Queen Vic Market!

This season, embrace he Christmas spirit with loads of festive fun for the whole family including ice skating at the Air Canada Ice Rink, Santa’s mailbox, carols, sustainable gift-making workshops, a Christmas kid’s trail, plus visits from Santa Claus himself.

The Market is your one-stop Christmas shop to stock up on seasonal food favourites, great gifts and stocking fillers from the wide variety of fresh produce and specialty merchandise traders.

The Air Canada Ice Rink (the first in an Australian summer) will pop-up under the Market’s 140-year-old historic sheds and invites you to enjoy the magical spirit of a northern hemisphere Christmas during the first three weeks of Australia’s summer (1–24 December 2018).

So whether you’re a total pro, a little bit wobbly, or have to hold onto the rink for dear life, it’s time to get your skates on!

Also on offer are the Sustainable Christmas Gift Making Workshops, The Beeswax Wrap Workshop (8 & 9 December), free Christmas Gift Guide, fun Christmas Trail (pick up a map from the new Visitor Information Hub in String Bean Alley or download a digital version and gather up the 12 clues to win a great prize), and the Christmas themed programme of live entertainment, including performances from the children of Fitzroy North Primary School and St Michael’s Primary School. The students will fill the Market air with songs of Christmas cheer, singing carols on Tuesday 4 December and Tuesday 11 December from 11am.

Santa will be pulling up in his sleigh at the Market on Saturday 22 December and Sunday 23 December to share his festive cheer with mini market-goers. Children will be able to send their wish lists directly to Santa’s workshop at the North Pole via his mailbox, located in C Shed from Saturday 1 December. All letters will receive a reply!
