Whether you go by Sam, Sammy, Samantha, Samuel, Samara, Sampson, or any other name that starts with S.A.M, it's a great week to be you.
Uber is giving all users whose name begins with S.A.M FREE Uber rides next week, 21-27 August 2017. Sammy sweethearts are entitled to a $20 Uber ride every day of their special week, because according to Uber, "Not everyone knows about Uber. But everyone knows a Sam."
The Catch? There Isn't One!
Apparently, Sam is the most popular unisex name in Uber Australia's register, so they've invited all Sams to become "Sambassadors" for 1 week in the hope that they will spread the good word about Uber to all their friends. If Sam's daily ride costs over $20, then all he or she has to do is pay the difference. According to Uber, "there's no catch here", it really is just a sweet week to be Sam (and Sam's tag-along friends).
