Cathay Pacific Unveils New Boeing 777 With Gym & Sky-High Yoga

  • All Ages

Hold onto your seatbelts and maybe your yoga mats too, because Cathay Pacific just went full zen master on us. Cathay Pacific have pulled the ultimate move in the airline glam game and unveiled their brand-spankin' new Boeing 777-300ERs. But wait, it's not just any ol' plane upgrade – we're talking onboard gyms and sky-high yoga sessions. Yep, you heard that right, a chance to flex and stretch those legs at 35,000 feet in the air because #SkyHighWellness, of course.

Here's what we know so far about, possibly, the swankiest airline around.

Some yoga to calm your pre-flight nerves?

Last year, Cathay Pacific teased us with glimpses of their chic business class suites and premium economy seats that looked straight out of a luxury designer mag. Now, they've decided to show off a bit more with a trio of slick videos and photos that make aeroplane cabins look like the next hot thing in interior design.

Leading the charge are the Aria Suites in Business Class, which are pretty much like having your own little private bubble. Think sliding doors, personal mood lighting, a massive 4K screen, and a spot for your phone to juice up, wirelessly. It's all about giving you your space, according to Vivian Lo, the big boss of customer experience and design at Cathay. They really dove deep into the "what would make passengers feel like royalty" brainstorm before sketching anything out.

What About Premium Economy?

And for those stretching out in premium economy, the vibe is just as swanky.

Every nook and cranny in these seats screams "personalised comfort," with your own reading light, a hefty 4K monitor, and more legroom than you can shake a stick at. Even the economy wing got a facelift, with a fresher look and Bluetooth streaming for all.

Sky-High Yoga Sessions, Anyone?

But the real showstopper onboard the new Cathay Pacific Boeing 777-300ERs is "The Sanctuary." It's Cathay Pacific's onboard temple of wellness, where First and Business jet-setters (plus the airline's gold and diamond members) can hit the gym.

Picture yourself doing yoga poses or getting in some cardio while cruising above the clouds. This gym is all about keeping you zen and pumped, which, let's be honest, is pretty wild for an airline amenity.

Cathay dropped this bombshell with an emphasis on show rather than tell, opting for eye-candy visuals over the nitty-gritty details. And with the grand reveal aiming for a touchdown in the second quarter of 2024, it's clear that Cathay Pacific is not just flying; they're soaring into the stratosphere of airline luxury. So, who's ready to sign up for the mile-high yoga club?
