Big Bandicoot Backyard At Cranbourne Gardens

A great big bandicoot has moved into Cranbourne Gardens. Help make it welcome!

Created with natural materials by artists Darryl Cordell, Vanessa Ellis and Trina Gaskell, this beautiful sculpture likes to have somewhere cosy to sleep – just like the last remaining population of Southern Brown Bandicoots in suburban Melbourne, which have found refuge in Cranbourne Gardens.

In the spring school holidays, come and help us create shelters for these precious creatures and contribute to bandicoot conservation. Get down low and see the world as a bandicoot does as you join in crafts and science activities to uncover the wonderful world of our native marsupials. Discover simple things you can do to help protect this precious species and create habitats for insects and animals at your own home.

Where:     Cranbourne Gardens, Ian Potter Lakeside Precinct
When:      2-5 October 2019; 10am-2pm
