Something big has landed in the Eastern Suburbs—with a rocketship taking residence at the new Waverley Park Playground, alongside a bespoke launch control play tower that is sure to capture the imaginations of Sydney kids and their grownups. 

It's All Systems Go for Launch at the New Waverley Park Playground

Bondi just upped the cool factor for families with the revamped Waverley Park Playground—now hailed as Sydney’s top playground hotspot! Designed by Proludic and reopened in late 2023, the park is a nod to its playful past, featuring a modern rocket ship and launch tower that pays homage to the original 1960s icon that generations loved.

But this isn't just any rocket ship. Picture this: a launch button that sends "steam" (actually water vapour) pouring out, making it seem like it's blasting off into space! There's also a "control panel" decked out with all sorts of knobs, dials, and lights, perfect for little commanders to pilot their own space missions. And for the brave young explorers, a climbing challenge awaits, leading up to a thrilling slide from the top.

The fun doesn't stop at the rocket. Waverley Park Playground is a dream come true for kids of all ages and abilities, packed with slides, swings, climbing frames, and exploration zones. There's everything from spinners and seesaws to a special area for toddlers, not to mention an inventive mix of nature, adventure, and sensory play areas featuring rope climbing, water features, and musical instruments.

And for the parents? They've thought of us too! A charming new cafe has opened right by the playground, serving top-notch coffee and tasty snacks.
