A Brand New Bike Park is Coming to Malabar

Randwick City is gearing up to welcome its very first dedicated bike park, set to provide thrills for mountain bikers, BMX riders, stunt bikers, and scooter enthusiasts alike at a just-decided location.

Cromwell Park North in Malabar will host this epic new facility, and let the minutes show—we're excited!

A Brand New Bike Park is Coming to Malabar

After careful consideration of three potential sites, including options in Matraville and Chifley, the Council settled on the Malabar location due to its spaciousness, accessibility, and ample parking.

The exciting new facility is slated to feature a variety of amenities, including a network of mountain bike trails, an asphalt pump track, a skills area with stone and timber obstacles, and a dirt jump zone.

Randwick Mayor Philipa Veitch expressed her enthusiasm for the chosen site, emphasizing the growing popularity of bike riding among young residents. She noted that the demand for a local bike park has been strong and highlighted the park's alignment with the city's Open Space and Recreation Strategy.

With $1.35M in funding allocated for the project, the Council will now move forward with developing detailed concept plans and engaging with the community for input.

When Will the Cromwell Park North Bike Park Open?

Construction is anticipated to kick off in the upcoming 2024-25 financial year, watch this space for updates!
