Governor Philip Park, Playground & Beach

Governor Phillip Park  is a great big park with loads of activities for the active family as well as a great playground. It extends from Beach Road in the south to the dunes which form the southern body of the Barrenjoey Headland. Within the park, you’ll find plenty of BBQs, open space and picnic areas. The playground is covered with shade from the Norfolk Pines and has recently been upgraded. Equipment includes a boat, spring rockers, 2 x climbing nets (lower playground and upper level) and stairs connecting lower and upper levels.

The family can also sail, fish, surf and swim in this wonderful reserve. For older children, a walk through the dunes up to the lighthouse at the top of Barrenjoey Headland is a highlight of a visit here. There are two cafés/restaurants within the park and the surf club has a kiosk operating throughout summer.
