Darling Quarter Playground

Darling Quarter Playground has everything you need for a great family day out – there is an array of fun activities that promote learning and imagination for all ages. Water games, climbing ropes, swings, slides, and a flying fox will keep the kids entertained all day. There are hours of fun to be had on equipment and experiences that have been engineered with safety in mind. And best of all, it’s free!

Alive with activity, this scenic area boasts spectacular views, a peaceful community green and a great selection of family friendly cafes and decent fresh food takeaway outlets. It’s easily accessible via bus, train, ferry, monorail, lightrail, car, taxi, cycle or pedestrian access. Darling Quarter is just south of Darling Harbour’s IMAX Theatre and is easy to find.

Ellaslist Opinion: We had heard great things about this playground but weren’t prepared for just how awesome this place really is! We parked in the Wilson Carpark underneath the Commonwealth Bank building, stepped into the lift and were deposited right bang in the middle of the action. There is something for kids of all ages, interests and  levels of co-ordination (or lack thereof in our case!). The piece de resistance is the massive waterplay area with shooting fountains, mechanical features and pumps. There is no avoiding getting soaked through so make sure you pack towels and cossies.

Places to visit nearby:You’ll be right in the middle of Darling Harbour so check out the Chinese Garden of Friendship, WILD LIFE Sydney Zoo, SEA LIFE Sydney AquariumAustralian Maritime Museum  IMAX and the Powerhouse Museum - all within easy walking distance
