On Saturday June 20th, 2015 Hunter Valley Gardens will transform into a Winter Wonderland as ‘Snow Time in the Garden’ kicks off! This will be an event worth packing the family in the car and heading out of Sydney for!
Due to last year’s huge success, the event will now run for three weeks rather than two from June 20th to July 12th, 2015. With 13 snow related activities on offer in the one place, it is guaranteed to be even bigger and better fun for the whole family.
In its fourth year, the snow spectacular will give children and adults alike the chance to enjoy all things winter, without having to travel to the snow. Whether you want to explore the new Giant Snow Globe, race down the Real Ice Toboggan, or frolic in the Snow Time Play Zone, this really is the perfect school holiday fun for everyone.
GIANT SNOW GLOBE – DAILY 10.00am – 3.00pm
Step into the Giant Snow Globe and enjoy the ‘snow’ without the chilly atmosphere! New to ‘Snow Time in the Garden’, the life-size snow globe can hold the entire family. Have your own private winter wonderland inside!
REAL ICE SKATING RINK – DAILY 9.30am – 9.00pm (last session 8.30pm)
Kick off your Snow Time fun with a spin around a Real Ice Skating Rink, fitted with disco lights and music! Skating sessions will run for 20 minutes and can fit up to 200 skaters at any time. With sessions starting at 9.30am every day, and skating equipment provided, make sure you don’t miss out!
HUSKY RACING DEMONSTRATIONS – SATURDAYS AND SUNDAYS at 10.00am, 11.30am, 2.00pm and 3.30pm
Come and see the amazing husky dogs and their trainers as they show you what these beautiful animals can do! You’ll see how the huskies react to voice commands, how they are harnessed and how they are trained to run in teams. These dogs and their trainers are international competitors, so it’s definitely not one to miss!
ARCADE ALLEY – DAILY 10.00am – 4.00pm
The new Arcade Alley will have some great games to keep your competitive spirits up! Games will include old school arcade favourites like air hockey and basketball shooting games.
SNOW DOGS ON SHOW – SATURDAYS AND SUNDAYS FROM 10.00am – 2.00pm
On both Saturday and Sunday each week there will be a different breed of cold climate dogs on show, including Siberian Huskies, Darcalsbella Border Collies and Bernese Mountain dogs. This activity gives you the opportunity to interact and spend time with these rare and beautiful animals.
SNOW BALL CHALLENGE – DAILY 10.00am – 9.00pm
Always wanted to know what a real snow ball fight is like? Make sure you head to the Snow Ball Challenge zone. It’s set up similar to a game of volleyball and gives family members the chance to have a bit of friendly competition as they throw snow balls at each other over the net. Perfect for all ages.
LIVE ICE SCULPTING – SATURDAYS AND SUNDAYS AT 11.00am & 2.00pm
Come and watch international ice sculptor Kenji Ogawa as he turns frozen water into sculptures! Kenji creates handmade ice sculptures by using a chainsaw, and will be making moose, penguins, bears and kangaroos on stage!
