Willoughby City Council is hosting a National Tree Day at Chatswood Rotary Memorial Athletics Field on Sunday 26th July.
The activity is an opportunity to meet with your local community and take part in a conservation project. The day will include plant giveaways and planting activities as well as a lecture discussion “For the Birds” by bird expert Holly Parsons.
The activities during the day will be:
Planting Activity – 10am-12pm
Plant Giveaway for residents – 10am-2pm
Mulch giveaway for residents – 10am-2pm
Walk and talk ‘For the Birds’ by bird expert Holly Parsons – 11am-12pm: Holly will discuss the secrets of successful planting for bird habitat, based on years of in-depth research on urban birdlife and corridors along the Lane Cove River.
Information for Volunteers: Please bring drinking water and wear appropriate clothing – hat, covered shoes, long sleeved shirt and long pants recommended.
The following will be provided: Gloves, tools and equipment for planting, watering cans and buckets.
Tree Planting activities will also take place on Sunday 26 July 2015 at:
-Barambah Reserve, Barambah Road Roseville between 10-12am
-Northcote Street, between Dargan and Ruth Street, Naremburn between 9-11am
