For audiences – young and old – Hans Christian Andersen’s Wild Swans is an exciting, scary, poignant, unforgettable performance - showing at The Sydney Opera House on July 19.

In Wild Swans, Amanda Muggleton tells the story of the sadly neglected princess, Elise, and her lonely search for her eleven brothers who have been driven into exile by their spiteful stepmother. Rescued by eleven magnificent white swans and carried across storm-tossed seas, Elise’s adventures grow ever more magical and mysterious and build to an enthralling climax.

The stunning Wild Swans music – so evocative, beautiful and spine-tingling – was written by the brilliant Australian composer, Elena Kats-Chernin, for the ballet, Wild Swans – choreographed by Meryl Tankard and staged by the Australian Ballet at the Sydney Opera House in 2003.

Now Wild Swans returns to the Opera House with a highly dramatic and haunting re-arrangement of the score providing a dazzling accompaniment to the original story.
