This July school holidays is the perfect time to get out of the house and head to two of Sydney's great indoor heated swimming pools.

Cook and Phillip Park Aquatic Centre located right in the middle of the city, is easy to get to and well served by public transport. It is partially underground and was designed to make the most of the natural light that streams in from outside. There is a decent sized children’s pool with a water slide and cute mosaic sculptures to swim around, plus a 33 degree baby pool that you can use when there’s no classes going on (afternoons are best) Plus it’s right across the road from The Australian Museum so splash around then head to the museum for a few more hours of indoor fun.

Where:     4 Collage Street (corner of William St), Sydney
When:      July School Holidays: 1-16 July 2017; Monday - Friday 6am-10pm; Saturday - Sunday 7am-8pm
Cost:        Adults - $7.40; Kids - $5.60; Family - $19.50

Plan a visit to the Ian Thorpe Aquatic Centre followed by the Powerhouse Museum next door. There’s a good sized leisure pool, shallow at one end, excellent for babies, plus fountains and bubbles for the kiddies to play with.

Where:     458 Harris St (corner of William Henry St), Ultimo
When:      July School Holidays: 1-16 July 2017; Monday - Friday 6am-9pm; Saturday - Sunday 6am-8pm
Cost:        Adults - $7.40; Kids - $5.60; Family - $19.50
