Sydney Living Museums is perfect for little imaginations to run wild – from beautiful historic houses and gardens, to city museums and programs especially designed for families to enjoy.

Earn Your Tucker (5yrs+)
The sum is up and it’s time for kids to muck in to get the chores done and have some fun. Help feed the chickens, collect the eggs, sort the grain, carry the milk and make the butter. At the end of the program you’ll sit on the verandah for some well-earned tucker!

Bush Tucker Family Workshop: learn, make and eat (5yrs+)
Search for bush tucker plants with Aboriginal guides from Muru Mittigar around Rouse Hill House and Farm. Learn about traditional bush foods and make a traditional ‘Johnny cake’. A fun and engaging activity for all the family.

Kids in the Kitchen: Iced Tea and Junket (5-12yrs)
Come for a tasting tour of Elizabeth Farm. Hunt for edible flowers in the kitchen garden, make junket and try your hand at creating your own refreshing iced tea spring drink. At the end of the program, you’ll sit in the gardens with your refreshing spring delights!

Kids Creative Ceramics (5-12yrs)
Kids, let your creative spirits run free and be inspired by the Meroogal Women’s Art Prize currently on show inside this historic house museum. Take a guided tour where you pump the water, wind the gramophone and then create your very own hand-painted ceramic plate to take home, bake in the oven and then use every day or display.

House Family Tours
These school holidays, unlock the secrets of Sydney Living Museums’ house museums with tailored tours for children and families included with museum entry. Houses include Elizabeth House, Meroogal, Rouse Hill House & Farm, Vaucluse House, Elizabeth Bay House and Rose Seidler House.
