Join us as Sydney Living Museums celebrates 100 years of Vaucluse House as a public museum.

In 1915 the first steps were taken to establish Vaucluse House, once the home of colonial powerhouse William Charles Wentworth – explorer, barrister and political agitator – as a public museum.

Experience Vaucluse House at the free community Open Day:

When: Sunday 11th October 2015, 11am-4pm
Where: Vaucluse House, Wentworth Road, Vaucluse, NSW 2030
What: There’ll be pony rides for children, talks by experts and curators, tastings from historic recipes in the colonial kitchen lemon barley water. You can roam the gardens, meet the animals and discover ‘fun facts’ about Vaucluse House. Bring a picnic or buy light refreshments from the food truck and coffee cart or visit the charming Vaucluse House Tearooms for breakfast or lunch. Book into a special tour:
Vaucluse Estate Tour (1hr): 2.00pm & 2.30pm, book ticket HERE.
Wentworth Mausoleum Tour (45min): 1.30pm & 3pm, book ticket HERE.
Cost for tours: $10 General, $8 Members
Meeting point is the main marquee, on the Lone Pine Lawn. Places are strictly limited, bookings essential.
