CLOSE ENCOUNTERS OF THE ANIMAL KIND is a 30-minute TV special the whole family can enjoy together. Set at Mogo Wildlife Park on the NSW South Coast, it will give Australian viewers a never-before seen look into incredible animals of Mogo Wildlife Park, and their enduring bond with Zookeeper Chad, particularly as they approach the one-year anniversary of the Black Summer bushfires.

With all the media that focused on Mogo’s recovery from the bushfires, floods, then COVID, throughout 2020, it is only now that we have been able to properly tell the story of each of our own animal heroes – Phoenix the Lion Cub, the Giraffes, Jishnu the Red Panda and Archer the Koala – and how my close encounters with these animals has been vital to their welfare, but also a great source of support personally to me as well’ Zookeeper Chad reflects.

For over 23 years, Chad Staples has devoted his life and career to the care of animals and is responsible for a collection of over 2200 animals, including rare and endangered species at Mogo Wildlife Park and Featherdale Sydney Wildlife Park. Zookeeper Chad believes that bringing people closer to animals fosters a deeper love and understanding of nature, and everyday Chad gives a real and authentic snapshot of daily life and the animals in his care with over 220,000 of his social media audience (@zookeeper_chad).

As you recover from Christmas celebrations, relax and enjoy the wonders of MOGO Wildlife Park from the comfort of your own home.

Just watched Zookeeper Çhad on this show this afternoon. So great and enjoyable. I work in an aged care facility and would love some DVDs. Can you recommend some please if Mogo zoo doesn't have any. Thankyou
