It’s going to be a super sweet weekend! The inaugural Sweetfest kicks off this Saturday and Sunday (17 and October) at aMBUSH Gallery, Central Park in Chippendale as part of The Sydney Morning Herald Good Food Month presented by Citi.

Anything and everything that is iced, frosted, dusted, baked and fried will be on show with stallholders selling pastries, chocolate, sweets, cakes, doughnuts and bagels.

Sweetfest stallholders include: Black Star Pastry, Flour and Stone, MakMak, Sweetness the Patisserie, Chat Thai Sweets, Miss Lily’s Kitchen and many more decadent treats.

Learn from the Dessert Experts

Joining the Sweetfest marketplace will be some of Australia’s and the world’s leaders in pastry and desserts offering up some of their best dessert-making tips and secrets as part of the two-days of masterclasses on offer.

Masterclass presenters include Instagram cake sensation Katherine Sabbath (Sydney); master baker, Dan Lepard (London); king of desserts Alistair Wise (Sweet Envy, Hobart); Andy ‘Boss of the layer cake‘ Bowden (Sydney) and David Ralph (Kakawa Chocolates).

These will not be your typical cooking masterclasses with demonstrations including:

- A two-metre long ice-cream trough sundae by Alistair Wise during the Saturday morning session

- Chemistry in the kitchen to create the best chocolate cake with Dan Lepard during the Sunday morning session

- And if you thought a soft serve was just vanilla ice cream in a cone, Andy Bowden will undo all you thought you knew on Sunday afternoon.
