Only blooming once a year for about 2 weeks, the Cherry Blossom (Japanese Sakura) will be in all its pink and gorgeous glory at the Auburn Botanic Gardens this August!
You’re invited to the annual Cherry Blossom Festival to celebrate its arrival, as well as enjoying a showcase of Japanese culture, with everything from martial arts to flower arranging demonstrations. The festival will be held over two weekends: 20 – 21 August and 27 – 28 August 2016.
Head to the Peacock Gallery for origami workshops, and enjoy a picnic in the beautiful gardens with an authentic Japanese lunch from the food and drinks stalls available throughout the week. You might even catch some people in Cosplay – character dress-ups from Japanese and American pop culture! This event is expected to draw a big crowd from all across NSW, so don’t miss out!
Where: Auburn Botanic Gardens, Chiswick Rd, Auburn NSW 2144
When: 20-21 August and 27-28 August 2016, garden opens from 9am-5pm.
Cost: FREE for Auburn locals, children under 16 and people in cosplay and kimono costumes. $5 for visitors
Transport: A free shuttle bus will operate between Auburn Station and Botanic Gardens from 9am to 4.30pm.
