The Hills District in Sydney’s North West – 30 minutes from Sydney CBD – has summer holidays covered with their upcoming Christmas and holiday season and kid-friendly events.

The Sydney Hills Summer Series is a fantastic array of events designed to activate the senses for young and old, city-slicker, suburban and followers alike. There’s no better place to spend Summer than right there in the Sydney Hills. Jam packed with free events for both the young and old, meaning there’s simply no better place to spend this Summer!

The holiday season kicks off  with the Christmas Sky Show from November 27- December 30 on the Castle Hill Main Street, showcasing the best of light and sound (with three unique light tales).

Sydney Thunder Fans can get up close and personal on Fan Day on December 13 at Bruce Perser Reserve, followed by a family fun day of kids activities.

Bella Vista Farm Park hosts the Shakespeare in the Park outdoor series again this year, with 2 classic comedies sure to give you an entertaining night from December 11 (check website for dates and times).

The largest inflatable water theme park is coming to Bella Vista Farm Park from December 26- January 26 in the Hills Water Wonderland event.

Withers Road will host a 325m long water slide in the Hills City Slider event on December 27, for a day of slippery dip fun.

Bring the whole family to  Main Street Castle Hill for a NYE of fabulous food, live entertainment, live broadcasts of the Sydney fireworks and 2 light displays throughout the evening.

For an educational yet entertaining experience, bring the kids down to the Bella Vista Farm for “Convict Footprints”– a ‘living history” theatre production about Australia’s convicts – for dates and times check website, on January 8.

It’s not summer without an outdoor cinema- from January 15- February 14 visit the MTV presented Sydney Hills Outdoor Cinema at Heritage Park.

Spend Australia Day January 26 at the Bella Vista Farm enjoy all things Australia with performances by Christine Anu and a flag raising ceremony.
