Bush School ‘Tasters’ (2.5-5yrs)
Want to see what Bush School is about? Come to our special one-off Bush School session and check it out

Bush School (2.5-5yrs)
Climb trees, build cubbies, explore the great outdoors, make mud pies, and discover strange bugs. Get children back to nature and all of its benefits. Led by our expert team of Education Rangers, the Bush School group will inspire love for the natural world through games, bushcraft activities, stories and more in this 5 week program.
Where:     Fearnley Grounds, off Grand Drive, Centennial Park. Meet outside Café.
When:      Mondays 30 January, 6, 13, 20 & 27 February; 9.30-11.30am

Lego Robotics 1 (8-14yrs)
Be among the first to learn how to program our brand new Lego Mindstorms EV3 robots to do your bidding. In this exciting program learn how to teach a robot to do what you wish using motors, sensors and more! These robots use different software to the Lego Mindstorms NXT robots used in our previous holiday programs. This course is run by Fizzics Education and is presented by a science educator. To make up a full day program, simply book the corresponding morning or afternoon activity on the same day

Lego Robotics 2 (8-14yrs)
Put your EV3 skills to the test as we delve deeper into the programing that can make these robots do your bidding! The course is open-ended and challenge based; the skill of the attendees determines the types of problems given to the kids. This workshop is ideal for those children who have already attended Lego Robotics 1 & 2 and now can use a Lego robot’s basic functions with ease. This course is run by Fizzics Education and is presented by a science educator.

Exploring Science (5-12yrs)
Get your science-loving kids out of the house to find out all about light, sound, movement, energy changes, air pressure and more using hands-on science toys and child-friendly experiments.
Watch our Fizzics Education science educator sit on a chair of nails, shoot fog rings across the room and other surprising science sights.

Gross and Gory Science (6yrs +)
Ewwww, gross! Explore all things creepy and gooey in the name of studying the human body. Make fake snot, vile vomit bombs, exploding pimples, fake wounds and more. Not for the faint hearted…but so much fun! Wear old clothes in this one! The course is run by Fizzics Education and is presented by a science educator.

Chemical Concoctions (7yrs +)
Learn how to make elephant’s toothpaste, milk rainbows, gooey slime, fizzy potions, giant bubbles and more and more! Participate in a professional chemical science show and make slime to take home. Don’t forget to wear old clothes as you will be getting dirty! The course is run by Fizzics Education and is presented by a science educator.

Park Detectives: Forensic Fun! (6yrs +)
This forensic science workshop will intrigue budding super sleuths who enjoy their science mixed with a bit of drama. Get dressed in your forensic suit and follow the clues using real science: fingerprinting and blood typing, facial reconstruction via computer and real models, hair and fibre analysis, fluorescence of oils, plant identification and DNA comparisons, latent image detection and shoe impression casting, evidence collection & more!

Extreme Engineering Day (7yrs +)
Get your build on! The kids will have a blast in this holiday workshop where they put their imagination to the test constructing all sorts of contraptions. Engineers take scientific concepts and use them to make things bigger and better. We’ll be exploring the world of engineering through a series of activities designed to make you creatively think around design challenges. The course is run by Fizzics Education and is presented by a science educator.

CP Bush Rangers (5-13yrs)
The greatest alternative to screen time! Led by our experienced team of Bush Rangers, children will enjoy a day of wildlife, bushcrafts, outdoor challenges, games and free play all in the great outdoors of Centennial Parklands. Activities are designed to allow children to play outside and to take part in problem solving and cooperative challenges. This summer program also includes water play. This program is a firm holiday favourite and places are limited so book early to avoid disappointment.

Kids vs Wild (5-12yrs)
Join the Rangers for play and games centred around the need for water for survival, make your own personal water filter and enjoy some dip netting in the pond to find water bugs. This summer program also includes water play, so be prepared to get wet!

Kids Big Fish (8-15yrs)
Want to gain some valuable hands on fishing skills? Come along to a great family activity coached by “Tony the Fish Whisperer”. You can even try to beat Tony’s World Record catch that was caught right here in the Park! Note: you must bring your own rod and reel, and all children must be supervise by an adult.

Summer Spotlight Prowls (5yrs+)
Centennial Parklands is home to a variety of nocturnal creatures, from brush tail possums, microbats and tawny frogmouths to one of Sydney’s largest colonies of grey headed flying fox. Join a Parklands Ranger for a fascinating and surprising spotlight walk to see how the park transforms when the sun goes down. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Crafty Christmas Decoration Workshop In Centennial Park
With the Christmas season upon us, come down to the Park and get crafty to create your own unique Australian Christmas decorations using natural and found objects. Create an Australian wreath for your front door or Christmas tree using feathers, leaves, seed pods, pine cones, nuts, and paperbark. While you’re here, help us decorate some of the trees in our outdoor classroom with our Christmas partners, Sydney’s Tree Veneration Society.
