Join thousands of Irish and Australian Irish residents on Sunday March 15 in the 2015 Sydney St Patrick’s Day Parade & Family Day.
As the fourth largest St Patrick’s Day event in the world, there will be pre-parade entertainment, music and dancing from 10.30am before a flotilla of green, white and gold kicks off at 12pm and wanders through the city – starting opposite Sydney Town Hall on George Street – and finishing up at Hyde Park.
The Family Day activities start at 1pm with local Irish bands and musicians on the main stage and children’s entertainment throughout the park. Other activities in the Park include a children’s area, Citizenship Ceremony, seisiún tent, food and merchandise concession stands, and various community groups. The Family Day will wrap up at 6.30pm.
Hi-5 Goes Green!
The Sydney St Patrick’s Day Parade & Family Day are excited to announce that the awesome Australian music act Hi-5 are taking part in this year’s festivities. To kick off a day that celebrates Sydney’s Irish heritage, Hi-5 has entered a fabulous float in the parade. Make sure you get down early to see the group put their entry together in the muster area.
Directly after the parade, Hi-5 takes to the stage in Hyde Park in our Family Area at 1.30pm. Make sure get there early because places will go quickly and you don’t want to miss Hi-5’s twist on classic Irish tunes.
After their performance, the band will hold a meet and greet with fans in the Family area where you can hang the band members, have a quick chat and ask for autographs. Hi-5will also have their latest CD on sale in the Family area, too.
So make this St Patrick’s Day extra special and celebrate with Hi-5
