The Spot On Children’s Festival is returning to Riverside Theatres for another exciting year! Over 12 jam-packed days during the spring school holidays, this year’s festival features a fun-filled line-up of events guaranteed to keep your little (and big) ones entertained.
From 23 September to 4 October, Riverside Theatres is excited to present a program full of joy and wonder, hosting MAGICAL theatre and musical performances, workshops, and many more entertaining events for the whole family!
Come along with your children for playful activities and performances that are sure to excite and delight.
Spot On Children’s Festival Highlights
The line-up of live performances hitting the Spot On stages includes:
Beetle
23 September – 1 October
The magic of the bush habitat is brought to life through Legs On The Wall’s trademark physical storytelling, and animation created from original artworks by beloved children’s author and illustrator Freya Blackwood. A tale of resilience and hope, Beetle reminds young audiences that there’s an important place in the world for all of us. Beetle will be held at PHIVE Parramatta.
Mada’s Magical Marvel
26 – 27 September
Watch in awe as objects appear, disappear, and transform right before your very eyes in a series of mind-bending moments that often involve the entire audience.
Room on the Broom
26 – 28 September
The witch and her cat are flying happily on their broomstick – until a stormy wind blows away the witch's hat, bow and wand. When a hungry dragon appears, who will save the poor witch? And will there ever be room on the broom for everyone?
Garden Party: A Bee Story Adventure
28 - 29 September
Join the bees on their magical adventure and be amazed by their super strength, glow-in-the-dark escapades, acrobatic skills, groovy dance moves, and giant new friends.
You are a Doughnut
29 - 30 October
A biological-musical-comedy-
The Vegetable Plot – Pajamazon Jungle
30 September
ARIA-nominated and beloved Aussie kids band serving up a funky-fresh soundtrack to the food revolution for kids, families and foodies.
Possum Magic
3 – 4 October
Using a clever, nuanced palette of live action, stage magic, an original soundscape, elements of puppetry and projected animation, Monkey Baa’s award-winning creative team has translated the whimsical world of the beloved Australian picture book by Mem Fox and Julie Vivas to a live experience.
The Story of Mr. B
3 – 4 October
This surprise-filled puppet show, set in a giant pop-up book, tells the story of Mr Bumblegrum.
