The month of June means celebrations of Inti Raymi and Afro-Peruvian culture and the Addison Road Community Centre in Ultimo is excited to invite you to celebrate with the launch of Rhythms, Colours, Flavours of Peru on Saturday 27th June.
All those in love with all things Latin or who want to experience the Rhythms, Colours, Flavours of Peru are invited to this one-day FREE* festive event to celebrate Peru’s rich culture of cuisine, music, dance, and film.
The day will showcase a photographic exhibition, dance performances by Sydney based group Brisas Del Peru, music performances, an Afro-Peruvian Rhythms project and special guest performances.
To delight your tastebuds there will be Peruvian cuisine available for sale and to immerse you in Peru’s culinary delights, Chefs Jorge Chacon and Danny Parreno will lead a cooking demonstration to teach you the basics of a refreshing ceviche and a couple of other dishes to develop your culinary repertoire.
Fun activities for the children will happen at the kid’s corner and the day will wrap up with a film screening. The film viewing will consist of a short film, Sonia’s Dream by Diego Sarmiento, followed by the documentary, Finding Gaston by Patricia Perez. Both titles arrive fresh after travelling around the world at international film festivals (*Film tickets are $10)
