The Museum of Contemporary Art Australia (MCA) will present the spectacular Light Show, a major survey exhibition exploring the phenomenal aspects of light and its versatility as a sculptural medium, from 16 April to 5 July 2015.

Featuring 20 installations and sculptures by international artists from the 1960s to the present, Light Show brings to Sydney some of the most visually stimulating artworks seen in recent years, with installations re-created specially for the exhibition.

Light Show travels to Sydney following a sold-out showing at Hayward Gallery, London, and record attendances at Auckland Art Gallery. The exhibition will coincide with Vivid Sydney (22 May to 8 June 2015), the festival of light, music and ideas, with late-night openings throughout the festival.

Hi Nicole, thanks for your comment. I was actually at the MCA with my 2 year old twins on the weekend and really enjoyed the light show with them. I agree it could be a little more toddler-friendly in some areas but overall we had a blast! I guess going on one of the last days of the event meant that it wasn't very busy which made it more enjoyable for us. So hopefully you'll have a better experience next time. All the best, Arielle @ ellaslist

Hi we took our 5yr old and 3yr old to see this exhibit and $40 later came out not very happy this event is not suitable for the whole family more like 10yrs and up ....little ones find it hard to stay behind a line painted on the floor when there is a shiny light thing within grasp ....they only have one small kids section with black lights and fluro textures that was good but to small for the amount of kids & parents in became very claustrophobic very fast .....i have made the above know to the MCA and suggested they note kids 10yrs n up ....hope this is helpful
