After making its debut last year, the highly successful Running for Premature Babies Kid’s Disco is back on May 10 at the Coogee Diggers.
Bring your junior rugcutters and groovers for dancing, games and, of course, treats!
Running for Premature Babies is a special running group set up in 2007 by a very inspiring Mum, Sophie Smith, after she and Ash lost their first-born triplet sons, Henry, Jasper and Evan, following an extremely premature birth at 24 weeks. To keep the spirit of her boys alive and ensure something good came from their lives, the Henry, Jasper and Evan Smith Trust Fund was created by the Royal Hospital for Women Foundation to support the equipment and research needs of the Royal’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit where they were born.
RFPB organise a team to run in the Sydney Morning Herald Half Marathon each year and this year the event is on May 17. By joining, everyone commits to raising as much money as they can to give the more than 1000 premature and critically ill babies born at the Royal Hospital for Women each year a better chance at survival.
