Enjoy great kids activities at Blue Mountains Botanic Gardens this July school holidays and learn about the oldest and toughest survivors on Earth!

Mossy Monsters
The Blue Mountains Botanic Gardens are going pre-historic! Getting to know some of the oldest and toughest survivors on Earth. Kids will explore the Garden’s ‘Jungle’ area – a remnant of ancient Blue Mountains rainforest, and have the chance to harvest moss and other small plants from the Garden. Getting creative and getting their hands dirty, kids will use coconut coir, sphagnum moss and some fun crafty bits to make their own super-cute Mossy Monster – a living plant-pet to take home!

NAIDOC Aboriginal Language Workshop for Kids
An interactive learning experience linking language to country. Kids will learn to look at country through Aboriginal eyes as they explore Dharug Country with our Aboriginal educators. They'll go on an adventure along the Dharug Trail, joining words, tracks and stories of Australian animals and plants.

Gondwana Garden Family Day
Take a trip through time to the ancient land of Gondwana for a fantastic family day of hands-on science fun at the Blue Mountains Botanic Garden! See Australian dinosaurs and megafauna come to life throughout the Garden with our amazing new augmented reality app Jurassic Garden. Join in for exciting and spectacular science shows, hands-on activities, demonstrations, talks and walks! Special guests in the jam-packed schedule include the Australian Museum, the Children’s Discovery Museum, Erth Dinosaurs and the Frogs and Tadpole Society. Enjoy reptile shows, hands-on fun with prehistoric plants and fungi, or do some pond-dipping to find algae – one of the Earths oldest life-forms! Take a rare behind-the-scenes nursery tour, explore the Gondwana Walk with our plant scientists, make a take-home fossil, and find out about ancient plant life. All this and more!
