Celebrate the Queen’s Birthday this long weekend at Central Station with the award-winning Transport Heritage Expo! From Saturday 11 to Monday 13 June. Take a journey through Sydney’s transport history with heritage train and bus rides, train displays, live music and so much more!
Ride for a $1 on a fleet of vintage double decker buses for a 20-minute round trip of the Sydney CBD. The buses depart the Western Forecourt every 5 – 10 minutes between 10.00am – 4.00pm. Stroll along a selection of heritage locomotives and carriages alongside platforms 2, 3 and 5, then step inside the driver’s cab of a modern Sydney Trains Waratah train for FREE.
On Saturday 11 June at 9.30am, watch a heated race between three heritage trains, through Sydney’s inner west to Strathfield. The best part is that you can take a seat in these stunningly historic trains and enjoy a ride! There are also 60 minute steam train rides throughout the long weekend. Prices range from $15 for children and $25 for adults. Or take a step up and dine on a carriage from the golden era of rail travel for a 40-minute Devonshire Tea sitting. It costs $25 per person and seats 4 people at a table.
