It’s Eastwood’s best-known Festival and it’s not just your average Spring Festival…this is the Granny Smith Festival 2015! This year it’s celebrating a wonderful 30 years of community, fun, food and family entertainment on Saturday 17th October 9.30am-8.30pm.

Who’s Granny Smith?

The festival gets its name from Maria Ann ‘Granny’ Smith, an Eastwood local who, in 1868, grew the first Granny Smith apples, when some crab apple seeds sprouted in the compost heap. Now eaten across the world, Granny Smith would be proud of her tangy green apple variety.

Celebrating 30 years

From its first festival in 1985 when 5000 people attended, the Granny Smith Festival has grown into a huge, much-loved community event with over 85,000 people visiting throughout the day!

Grand Street Parade

The day’s entertainment starts at 9.30am with the Grand Street Parade featuring 2,000 talented locals joining in marching bands, floats and dancing troups. Head to Rowe Street for the best viewing points.

Live Entertainment All Day

With no less than four stages offering live entertainment throughout the day, there’s no shortage of talent to add to the lively, colourful vibe of the festival. The Trelawney Street Stage will feature music and dance from local schools and performance groups, the Plaza Stage will offer a variety of entertainment from local performers, the Oval Stage will feature bands and musicians including the evening’s closing family concert at 6.15pm, while the Roundabout Stage is family-focused with music and laughs for kids.
