Unleash your passion for creativity as you explore the many art forms that nature inspires at Garden Art Weekend at The Royal Botanic Garden Sydney on 16 and 17 April 2016.
Celebrating the intersection of artistic expression and botanical splendour, the Garden Art Weekend is an opportunity for inquiring minds to learn about the rich tradition of botanical art and illustration across different cultures and see the magnificent work of leading Australian and international botanic artists and illustrators.
Some of the highlights:
Aboriginal Art Class (all ages) 10-11am and 2-3pm.
Using materials provided – including echidna quills, sticks, ochre and bark as well as paints and brushes – you will create a unique piece of art to take home with you.
The King and Queen of Green (6-12yrs) 11am – 12pm and 1 – 2pm
The King and Queen of Green love the planet Earth and in particular things that are green! Princes and princesses of all ages will enjoy this fun and interactive outdoor theatre show.
Capturing Nature: Garden Art for Kids (8-12yrs) 10.30am – 12pm and 1 – 2.30pm
Kids will unleash their creativity in this art-based holiday program through exploring colours and textures of the Garden’s beautiful plants.
There are free 20 minute workshops for the whole family, such as: Children’s clay workshops and Plant-sculpture workshop. There will also be 20 minute talks like; Ikebana flower-arrangement demonstration and talk and Natural Materials Appreciation hands on talk.

Cost: Free entry. Some activities are ticketed.
