Kids love drumming! Try Ukubebe’s FREE demonstration African Drumming classes this January.
This is a dynamic and fun class for learning African drumming techniques and hand percussion. Ukubebe drumming classes use hand-drumming and percussion activities which nurture children’s social, emotional and creative development. The class is based on musical elements such as echo response, solo turns, learning beat and rhythm, and will be built on creative story telling, soundscapes, and will foster leadership and respect.
Ukubebe Drumming Fun and percussion classes are taught by Percussionist Megan Lipworth. Megan is professional percussionist and loves teaching children. Through rhythm games and activities, children will develop important social skills such as turn-taking, cooperation and listening, as well as build self-esteem, leadership skills, foster creativity and self-expression, and create the perfect environment for children to bond and connect with each other in a positive way.
If you enjoy your free demo class, enrol in after-school Tuesday afternoon drumming classes, or bring the whole family along to their Saturday ‘family fun’ class.
Where: Ukubebe Music, Downstairs at 207 Avoca Street, Randwick
When: Tuesday 17 January & Tuesday 24 January 2017; 5-8 year olds at 3pm and 9-12 year olds at 4pm
