Gardens all over Sydney are going to be getting a burst of colour as the City of Sydney hosts a plant and tree giveaway this weekend.

Pick up a FREE Tree

On Saturday 12 March 2016, if you are lucky enough to live within the City of Sydney council area, you can pick up a FREE TREE (they are giving away 1,000 trees).

You can select a small or medium tree and choose between native or exotic species. Pick a deciduous or evergreen species to suit your property. Enjoy a sausage sizzle and chat to the staff for tips and advice on how to plant your trees and general tree maintenance.

WHEN: Saturday 12 March from 10am
WHERE: Sydney Park Road car park
CONDITIONS: There is a limit of 2 trees per property and you’ll need to bring along a copy of your rates notice or driver’s licence to be able to collect your free trees.

Plant and Flower Giveaway

On Sunday 13 March, more than 5,000 plants including marigolds, petunia, salvia, celosia, lavender, mint and basil will be given away in support of the Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation.

These beautiful blooms and plants are part of the stunning Living Colour summer displays that brightens up public areas at Martin Place, Green Square, Town Hall, Alfred Street and the forecourt outside St Mary’s Cathedral.

In return for taking home a burst of colour, the council is asking people to support an important cause with a gold coin donation to the Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation.

WHEN: Sunday 13 March From 8am – while stocks last
