Sydney Festival has the school holidays covered with a week full of shows, activities, and free fun to engage and entertain growing hands, feet, ears, minds and imaginations.
Prepare for a week full of shows, activities, and free fun that introduces kids to spectacular art and music from January 12-16, 10am-3pm daily around the Meriton Festival Village.
The Sydney Festival is made up of free and ticketed events with some free events requiring registration. There’s something for everyone, of all ages and capabilities, with easy access and diverse activities that invites kids to look inside themselves and find an imaginative and creative artist.
Take part in a silent disco walking tour with Dance Your Hyde Off With Guru Dudu, or find out what happens when the sun and the moon stay up all night together in Sunny Ray and The Magnificent Moon. If your little one has a musical ear then join the family-friendly mayhem at My Family’s Weirder Than Yours.

Sunny Ray and The Magnificent Moon
Meet Sunny Ray: happy, light, a true wonder of the world. Sunny loves her life but has always secretly wanted to know… what happens when she goes to bed? Meet her best friend in the sky, the Magnificent Moon: the all-night party guy who gets to stay up every night. Then one bedtime Sunny breaks all the rules and doesn’t go to sleep.
Magic Mirrors Spiegeltent, 12 January at 3pm, 13 – 16 January at 10am & 12pm General Admission $25, Suitable for ages 4+
My Family’s Weirder Than Yours
Do you ever feel like you’re the only normal one in your family?
Meet Josh Earl, because he feels your pain. In his first kids’ show, the award-winning comedian tells tales of a dad who can’t read maps, a mum who can’t be spoken to when her shows are on, a nan who needs a lesson in table manners and a dog that burps bubbles.
The Famous Spiegeltent. 12 January at 10am, 13 January at 11am & 1pm, 14 – 16 January at 11am General Admission $25, Suitable for ages 5+
Three friends left to their own devices discover each other’s likes, dislikes and soft spots in a vivaciously fun story told through circus, dance and play by the sensational Casus Circus. Energetic, thrilling and lyrical, Tolu will leave families wanting more.
