The Sydney Film Festival in June 2016 has some great new family-friendly films.

Share the excitement of the Sydney Film Festival with your whole family! Featuring the best family films from around the world that will surprise and delight both the child inside and the child beside you.

This year’s Family Films selection will take audiences on a journey from 19th Century Russia to contemporary France and Canada and back home to Australia. Some eagerly awaited studio films have also been included in the mix, and teens hungry for diverse and edgy cinema won’t be disappointed.

Festival audiences can be the first to see two of the most anticipated family films of the year: the Cannes-selected Disney’s The BFG directed by Steven Spielberg and the blockbuster adventure comedy Ice Age: Collision Course. Adults too will love this program, which is brimming with festival-quality feature-length films suitable for all ages including Coconut Hero, the new Australian feature Girl Asleep,Long Way North and Miss Impossible.

A special selection of animated short films from around the world has been curated by SFF’s animation specialist Malcolm Turner and can be seen in the Kids Animation Showcase on 11 June 2016.
