Welcome the New Year at Darling Harbour on December 31 from 7.30 pm to 12.30 am, and be a part of one of the most talked-about celebrations in the world! Sydney Harbour Foreshore Authority’s much-anticipated FREE event is family friendly with glass and BYO alcohol bans in public spaces, and a 9pm fireworks show, so that the little ones won’t miss out.
The 2015 Sydney New Year’s theme is City of Colour; a tribute to our beaches, parks and vibrant city life, along with our diverse backgrounds, culture and rich history. The spectacular fireworks will be synchronised to a soundtrack by renowned DJ and music programmer, Tyson Koh. Keep an eye out around Cockle Bay and off Pyrmont Bridge for six flame-jet shows, a new addition to the New Year celebrations!
The best viewing spots for the fireworks will be from around Cockle Bay but be sure to arrive early to find your perfect spot! Take public transport and enter Darling Harbour from the south, near the Chinese Garden of Friendship.
If you prefer to view the fireworks from a nice indoor venue, there are plenty of restaurants and bars open with uninterrupted views of the harbour. You can also take a boat or cruise ship and see the fireworks from the water! To see the different venues and to book your restaurant or cruise go here.
When: Thursday 31 December, 7.30pm – 12.30am
Where: Darling Harbour
