Sydney kids and families are invited to experience the beauty of the fleeting moment in which the cherry blossoms are in full bloom at the Cherry Blossom Festival in Auburn this August!
Cherry blossoms bloom once a year for approximately two weeks and Auburn Botanic Gardens is one of the most popular places in Sydney to view the beautiful phenomenon.
The Sydney Cherry Blossom Festival is a celebration of Japanese modern and traditional culture through flora, food, movies, music and performance. From Sumo to Silent Disco, Godzilla to gardens, and origami to okonomiyaki – Sydney Cherry Blossom Festival caters to all ages and interests. Hand pick your festival experience- check out the FULL list of activities and events here.
One of the highlights of the festival is no doubt the FOOD- you can expect food trucks from all your Japanese favourites including Mr Bao, Mavericks Wings, Shiso Fine, as well as Japanese-inspired hot dogs, bento boxes, Asahi beer, sake, and plum wine. All this plus great entertainment will be available on the two weekends that the festival is running, and the garden will be open for public viewing on these dates: August 21, 23 and 25, so beat the crowds and head there mid-week.
There will be a free shuttle running from Auburn station to bring you to the festival.
