The Australian Botanic Gardens is setting up for what is sure to be one of the biggest Easter egg hunts West Sydney has ever seen.
Kids will use trail maps to collect hidden choccies, complete fun challenges and find their giant furry easter bunny friend! Darrell Lea is supplying the eggs on the day, so you know they’ll be delish. This is also the perfect egg hunt for visually impaired children, with sound emitting eggs included in the hunt, thanks to Vision Australia- so spread the word!
Other Easter themed activities on the day will include: a Bunny Hop sack race, a plant perfume guessing game, the chance to meet the Easter bunny or hold baby chicks thanks to Henny Penny Hatching and the egg or seed challenge which incorporates seeds as a symbol of new life.
Families are encouraged to make a day of it- pack a picnic and enjoy the gardens after the fun is done (each hunt takes about 20 minutes). Enjoy a walk through the gardens or a tour of the PlantBank. The PlantBank will be hosting ‘Seed, Art, Lab: Seeds through an Artists Lens’ an exhibition by artist Sophie Munns and seed pods and drawing materials will be on-hand for children to creatively explore.
When: Saturday 26 March 9.30am-2.30pm, with hunts staggered every 15 minutes
Where: Australian Botanic Gardens, Narellan Road, Sydney. (Meeting Point: Lakeside Lawn near the yellow buttercup statue. Closest parking is the main P3 carpark next to the Visitor Centre. Enter via Narellan Road.)
