Recycled objects have new life breathed into them in surprising and spectacular ways in the captivating wonderland of fun that is Sydney’e newest large scale fairground! From 7–24 January at Prince Alfred Square be sure to see the Arquitectura De Feria for FREE. The Arquitectura De Feria is part of Sydney Festival’s fun-stuffed, creative Family Week.
Adults and children play together, twirling handles and spinning pedals to operate the whimsical fairground machines – including a hand-cranked Ferris wheel fitted out with toilet seats and a bicycle-powered carousel with a whirling crocodile and a rocket ship. Kids will gain a new appreciation for the bizarre and imaginative world of art and play, as well as the interesting ways you can recycle and have fun!
Prince Alfred Square is an accessible venue and all rides are inclusive. While you’re there keep an eye out for a European family of artisans led by Jordà Ferré and Oscar de Paz who are travelling to Parramatta to resurrect the life of old-style fairs.
