What’s not to love about The Australian Museum? Every school holidays the Museum, in the heart of Sydney’s CBD, offers a range of exciting, interactive children’s activities, for kids of all ages.

These school holidays, head into town for some awesome animal fun!

Wildlife Photographer of the Year (All ages)
28 March – 5 October: Experience the power, mystique and beauty of nature through the wildlife photographer’s lens.  See over 100 images selected from more than 40,000 entries worldwide and discover the amazing world we live in. Check website for admission fees.

Photography Workshops (8-12yrs & 13-17yrs)
In conjunction with the Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition (opens March 28), kids and teens can sign up for a photography workshop. Enjoy a tour of our fantastic Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition, photograph real museum specimens, and creating images to take home.

Scientist For A Day (8-12yrs)
These popular full-day programs will be running again these holidays. Choose from:
What’s in your backyard? during which kid can participate in soil experiments, learn backyard science activities, and more.
Come into the light! in which kids will delve into the inner workings of the systems that create light, and encounter weird and wonderful beings that brighten up our ecosystems.

For the littlies – the Australian Wildlife Display and Wildlife Craft – both FREE with Museum entry.

And in case you’ve been living under a rock, the Museum’s popular Dinosaurs exhibition is still running! Famous for having 10 complete dinosaur skeletons and eight-life-sized models, it also features high-tech interactive displays that encourage you to look, listen and learn about these fascinating creatures who ruled the world until 65 million years ago.
