This April school holidays, you can learn to decorate and throw a boomerang, churn butter and cuddle up with a baby chick at Rouse Hill House & Farm.

Bush Tucker (6yrs+):
Explore the bush tucker plants with Aboriginal guides from Muru Mittigar around Rouse Hill House and Farm. Learn about traditional bush foods and make a traditional ‘Johnny cake’. Then sit down to your well-earned tucker! This is a fun and engaging activity for all the family. Enjoy the following activities during this program: - Learn how to identify plants and any wildlife we can spot
- Use traditional and contemporary ingredients to make a ‘Johnny cake’
- Bake your cake, make sure there is enough to share
- Enjoy your well-earned bush tucker when the work is done!
Where:   Rouse Hill House & Farm, 356 Annangrove Road, Rouse Hill
When:     Tuesday 11 & 18; Thursday 13 & 20 April 2017; 10.30am-12.30pm

Earn Your Tucker (5yrs+):
The sun is up and it’s time for kids to have fun and muck in to get the chores done. Help feed the chickens, collect the eggs, grind the corn, make the butter and pump the water. At the end of the program, you’ll sit on the veranda for some well-earned tucker! Below is a list of the main activities:
- Pump up the water and grind cereal grains, and then feed it to the chickens before collecting their eggs.
- Learn how to do the egg test to make sure your egg is fresh.
- Churn the butter on the verandah, washing off the buttermilk and patting the butter into shape, before taking it home.

Baby Farm Animals (6yrs+):
Meet the baby animals at Rouse Hill House & Farm. Pet the lambs, a piglet and baby chicks then wander around the farm to see our new calves, sheep, horses and free-range chickens. Bookings essential.

When:     Wednesday – Sunday; 10am, 11am, 12pm, 1pm & 2pm
Cost:        General – $12; Kids – $8; Family – $30; Members – FREE
