Sydney Living Museums invites you and the family to experience its unique annual artisan food market, Spring Harvest, at Elizabeth Farm on Sunday 25 September.
Step inside Elizabeth Farm and discover the interiors of Australia’s oldest surviving homestead. See how the Macarthur’s dining table would have been set for a formal meal. Explore the food and stories of the colonial dining table – pickles, preserves, honey, coffee, tea, smoked goods and heirloom produce, as you shop from a hand-picked selection of over 15 providores including Brasserie Bread, Pepe Saya, Cornersmith, Feather and Bone, Eat Me Chutneys and more.
Drop into a range of live food demonstrations and hands-on opportunities including bread making the colonial kitchen, where you can try your hand at grinding wheat and kneading dough, experience what goes into preparing hand churned butter in the dairy with Pepe Saya, or learn about the art of preserving for the season with Cornersmith, and more.
Pack a picnic rug and enjoy the picturesque setting with a delicious spread from one of our many ready-to-eat food vendors or visit the Elizabeth Farm Tearooms to savour a homemade Devonshire tea or a ploughman’s lunch, showcasing a variety of produce from the Spring Harvest stallholders.
When: Sunday 25 September, 10am-3pm
Where: Elizabeth Farm, 70 Alice Street, Rosehill
Cost: FREE (gold coin donation appreciated for house entry)
