Mums & Bubs

Let’s face it – high tea is really just a great excuse to eat cake for lunch so it really is a perfect mummy and me date with your little one! Of course it’s ideal for little princesses but don’t leave the boys out – they’ll have a great time, too!
High Tea with girlfriends is all about champagne and gossip but when kids are part of the mix the main game is the hot chocolate and cake so get ready to navigate the sugar highs amongst fine china and delicate tea sets!
Here are some of our favourites that have special high tea menus for children:
High Tea at The Langham, Sydney: 89-113 Kent Street, Sydney.
The opulent tea rooms at The Langham are one of Sydney’s famous destinations for a decadent high tea. Kids are welcome and are served half portions (at half the price!). The Langham also puts on themed kids high teas during school holidays!
Kids in the City High Tea at the Radisson Blu Plaza Sydney: 27 O’Connell St, Sydney.
This is particularly aimed at little girls wanting to don pretty frocks for a girly day of fairy bread, ham and cheese sandwiches, mocktails, marshmallowy hot choccies and more. It runs daily, and only costs $25 per child.
Kids High Teas at The Sir Stamford Hotel: 93 Maquarie St, Circular Quay Sydney
Fluffy scones, innovative mini-desserts and finger sandwiches along with creamy hot chocolates, Sir Stamford’s Kids High Teas will love the elegance and ambience of the Sir Stamford; every school holidays.
Sparkle Cupcakery: 132A Foveaux St Surry Hills.
This is a cupcake paradise and the little ones will love choosing their favourite flavours. You can pre-book a T Party, which is a modern twist on the traditional High Tea, featuring an array of sweet and savoury morsels, changing with the seasons, presented on an oh-so-Sparkle three tier stand. Or for a real treat, book your kid’s next birthday party at Sparkle. Choose from the Fairy and Goblins T Party or the Sparkle Baking Class. Your kids will love you forever.
The Tea Salon: Level 4 (Designer Gallery), Cnr Pitt Street Mall and Market Street, Sydney.
Kids can take their pick from The Tea Salon’s Top Ten Scones including Spiced Cinnamon and Raisin, Lavender, White Chip and Cranberry, Cheddar and Thyme! They will also love the Mini Rose Pannacotta topped with pretty pink fairy floss. Choice of Anna Pavlova tea, Milkshake, Fruit Nectar or Iced Tea.
The Tea Room at QVB: Level 3 North End, Queen Victoria Building, 455 George Street, Sydney
Situated in the opulent Grand Ballroom of the Queen Victoria Building, The Tea Room offers a stylish high tea and is family-friendly, although perhaps better suited to older kids as there is no dedicated kids menu or seating area.
Vaucluse House Tearoom: Wentworth Road, Vaucluse NSW 2030
Combine a visit to Sydney Living Museum’s historic Vaucluse House and a fabulous high tea in the Vaucluse House Tearooms overlooking the immaculately kept gardens.
The Teahouse: Cnr Kareena Rd & President Ave, Caringbah.
Fairy Bread Flowers, mini jelly-cups, pastries and more – your kids will dine to their hearts content at The Teahouse set amongst the beautiful Camellia Gardens, where Kids’ High Teas are available anytime with full paying adult tea.
Coco Children’s High Teas at Sydney Chocolate School: Building 21, 1110 Middle Head Road, Mosman.
Set on Harbour Trust land at Middle Head, celebrate a birthday or just enjoy the day with friends with Coco’s Children’s High Teas. As an outside venue, children’s croquet can be set up as well as tables, chairs and picnic blankets for a delightful High Tea experience. Bookings essential.
