Is your child struggling at school? Finding it hard to make friends? Staying in his or her room? Complaining of a sore tummy before school? Refusing to try new things? Acting out at home?

These can be signs that your child is suffering from a mental health issue and may need professional help. Helping your child build emotional health and resilience at an early stage can improve your child's happiness and prevent problems from happening later on.

Dr Anna McKinnon is an experienced Sydney Psychologist, having helped hundreds of children, teenagers, and their families to build emotional health and wellbeing. She has specialist knowledge of treating anxiety disorders (e.g., social anxiety, separation anxiety etc.) and adjustment difficulties in the aftermath of trauma (e.g., car accidents, physical assault, sexual assault).

Anna adopts a gentle, compassionate and change-oriented approach when working with children. She empowers children, teenagers and adults to improve their emotional health, deal with challenges and make other positive changes in their lives.

Anna has authored numerous articles, workshops and book chapters on various areas of youth mental health. She has worked extensively as a clinical psychologist in community settings, and at leading clinics and laboratories at the University of Cambridge (UK) and within Australian universities. Parents can feel at ease that she will only adopt therapeutic approaches that are backed up by the most recent, and best available, research.
